Rhythm Rumble II: Revenge of the Mad Beats

This June, Swing It! ran what was heralded as the “Event of the Millenium”! Eight of Perth’s finest DJs battled it out with their best swing beats to win the crown of Phatest DJ. Could this event ever be topped? Well, we’re going to try!

This December, join us for an epic Christmas edition of the Rhythm Rumble, the most hardcore competition to hit the Perth streets this year. The ultimate winner? YOU! DJs are competing to win and receive the ultimate glory. That’s a night of non-stop favourite dance hits and an event filled with social dancing bliss (with a bit of Christmas cheer thrown in)!

DJs will compete in a knockout style tournament.  The crowd holds the vote and, at the end of each round, will walk to the side of the room to indicate the DJ they favour to move on to the finals.

All DJs of any experience are welcome to enter, it’s all in good fun.  There are 8 spaces available and it’s first in, best dressed.  The DJs will all pay an entry charge that will go into the pot, at the end of the night the DJ crowned Phatest will receive the full amount of the pot as winnings and will then DJ for an hour to end the evening!

So, DJs, it’s time to throw down and see whose got what it takes to win the ultimate battle and be crowned Phatest DJ!

If you want to enter you need to email Lexi (lexi.rollins@gmail.com) with three things:

1) A mugshot (this can be playful or not.  However we need a photo of your face to put up on our leaderboard on the night)

2) A DJ name

3) A DJ catch phrase

First 8 DJs to send Lexi all of those by email will be our 8 competing DJs on the night.  DJs are expected to have enough music to battle and then DJ for the final hour of social dancing.  DJs must also have their own equipment (ie laptop or CD player with cables).

WHEN: Saturday, December 19th, 7:30pm

WHERE: Royal Park Hall, Cnr Charles and Vincent streets.

COST: $10 for dancers, $20 for DJs (remember all the money from the DJs is up for grabs by the most popular DJ on the night)
