WHERE DO WE GO?

Swing It! Fremantle regular classes are held at the North Fremantle Community Hall, 2 Thompson Road, North Fremantle Wednesday nights from 7.00pm.

WHAT CLASSES DO YOU OFFER?

Swing It! Fremantle offers offers classes that cater for a variety of levels with the focus being on the authentic 1920s and 30s Lindy Hop style. Our emphasis is on delivering an exciting and enthusiastic approach to the dance that defined a generation and is still going strong all around the world today!

Lindy 1 - Lindy 1 - This is where the real Lindy Hop journey begins.  Once you’ve done one of our Beginner Workshops you’re welcome to take part in this class.  Here we explore the basic moves further and show you a range of styling and variations you can add to your dancing.  Lindy 1 classes are easy, relaxed and a whole lot of fun.

Lindy 2 - This is the intermediate level class.  Here we explore the classic moves and rhythms of the Lindy Hop further with a greater emphasis on lead and follow techniques, musical appreciation and of course FUN!  The moves will become a little trickier and the speeds will be a little faster but all are welcome.

WHAT ARE THE CLASS TIMES?

7.00pm - 8.00pm: Lindy 1 (Imp)

8.00pm - 8.30pm: Social Dancing

8.30pm - 9.30pm: Lindy 2 (Int)

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to class starting times in order to register and warm up!

Lindy 1 and 2 can be paid for in two different ways: If you prefer to drop in and pay per class, it’s $15.  If you’d prefer to save a little money we recommend our Star Cards; the Star Cards give you 5 classes for $60 (a saving of $15).

WHAT DO WE BRING?

First of all you don’t need a partner. We rotate partners in all Swing It! classes in order to give you greater experience in ‘lead’ and ‘follow’, and of course so you can meet new people!

For all classes you should wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing, comfortable shoes (heels aren’t the best option) and also bring a drink bottle.

Note: Classes are only open to those aged 15yrs and above.
